Elevador Santa Justa or the Lisbon Elevator

Elevador Santa Justa or the Lisbon Elevator
Situated at the end of Rua de Santa Justa, it connects the lower streets of Baixa with Largo do Carmo  where the revolution of 1974 was instigated. The Elevator platform is located at Largo do Carmo itself (see www.littlebookoflisbon.com
The Elevator was designed by the company owned by Gustave Eiffel, so if you think that the steal work is familiar, then you’re not imagining it. The Elevator is well worth visiting and costs only €1.50 to go to the viewing platform where you will get an excellent perspective of the city! Leaving the platform there is a lovely Italian restaurant called Bella Lisa which is perfect for a cold drink or a snack while out sight seeing and it's great value too!
