One of the oldest cafes in Lisbon, Established 1905

Situated in the heart of Chiado, at the top of the bustling street of Rua Garrett, this historical cafe which was established in 1905 will transport you back in time

The names translates to the Brazilian Lady Cafe and it was originally established to import and sell authentic Brazilian coffee. The current design of the cafe dates back to 1922 when it took on the Art Deco style you witness today. When you first see Café Brazileira, you won’t be surprised to know that for over a century this luxurious venue has been frequented by Lisbon’s artists, intellectuals and literary figures.

The wonderful exterior of Cafe Brazileira is a work of art and venture inside to see exquisite craftsmanship throughout. There is a shaded seated area outside the cafe and it’s a great location for a meeting point or if you just want to people watch whilst sipping on a coffee or cold drink. There is a a light food menu available and as normal in Lisbon there are plenty of cakes.
