LX Factory is a bohemian market full of charm

LX Factory Lisbon is a quirky market place with a great vibe, lots of cafes to grab a bite to eat and an amazing roof top bar to catch another wonderful Lisbon sunset. 

LX Factory also supports artists and start up businesses too, so wander around and check out some of the shops on the upper levels of the old industrial buildings. We met Hilary and Steven from Hilary & June Jewelry Design, great people who gave us a rundown on the scene which is booming at the LX Factory in the district off Alcantara.

There are plenty of great artisan cafes and restaurants located around LX Factory so make sure to take your time to stroll around all the nooks and crannies. The market stalls are at the back on the right hand side and be sure to check out the book shop, if not for the books, then for the design!

LX Factory is a great place to spend a couple of hours browsing by day or by night and is located down by the 25th April Bridge.

There is now an elavator tour you can take to the top of the bridge, it’s called Pilar 7, and it’s only a 5 minute walk from LX Factory. The bridge is 26 stories high and if you’d prefer to walk up rather than take the elevator, then it’s 600 steps!!!

The Pilar 7 tour is Free when you purchase the Lisboa Card and otherwise it’s only €5.

While out here you can also visit the Docks or Docha as it’s locally known. Here you’ll find lots of great restaurants and you can also book river boat trips from here. The Docks are located across a busy road but there is an underpass which with take you there. Again it’s only a 5 minute walk from the LX Factory or Pilar 7.

The Lisboa Card gives you Free entry to over 30 attractions in Lisbon and with the card you also have Free travel on all Trams, Metro and Buses, Train to Cascais and to Sintra.
