The avenue is splendid, it’s broad and straddled on both sides by trees, streams, fountains, statues and austere buildings. The Avenue Liberdade also hosts many of the cities main large hotels and all the top fashion houses such as Prada. Gucci, Louis Vuitton etc. locate their stores here. There also numerous Kiosk along the Avenue where you can grab a snack, coffee or a cold drink.

The bottom of Avenue da Liberdade starts at Rossio and stretches on a slight gradient up towards the magnificent Praça do Marquês de Pombal which also marks the start of Parque Eduardo VII. The Praça and the Parque offer panoramic views across the city and you’ll also find seasonal markets plus national and international exhibitions here, so keep a close eye on event calendars so as not to miss out.
