Lisbon Taxi or Uber/Bolt

Read why we choose Uber or Bolt every time

We are often asked what's the best way to get around Lisbon. Obviously public transport is the greener option but if choosing between a regular Taxi or an Uber, we always take an Uber in Lisbon.

Lisbon Taxis are plentiful, many of them are old Mercedes in a distinctive cream colour or black cars with a green roof. There is always a fleet of them available at arrivals at the airport to bring you on the short 25-30 minute ride downtown.

The standards of car and driver varies and we always suggest that you enter your destination into Google maps before you start your journey, just so you are confident that you are being brought on the fastest and most economical route.

Another great value way to get around Lisbon is to purchase a Lisboa Card. It includes access to public transportation, including, Trams, Metro & Buses, plus the train to visit Sintra and Cascais. The card also includes free access to 38 great Lisbon attractions, plus discounts to many others.

Uber/Bolt is more reliable and the drivers are generally very friendly, speak English and can give you some great local advice.
